Welcome to First Class Homeschool Ministries

What First Class Homeschool Co-ops are NOT:

  • First Class Co-ops are not support groups or "day school."  We count on the active involvement of every member family to make Co-op Class Day a success!
  • First Class Co-ops do not replace the role of the parent as primary educator at home:
Our role is to encourage the parent, through support, assistance, co-op classes and relationship building.
  • First Class Co-ops do not function as a school.
First Class Co-op classes are typically held one day a week, with one session operating in the fall and one in the spring.  Occasionally, co-ops choose to operate more than one day a week.

  • First Class Co-ops do not use a particular curriculum:
Parents choose what they would like to teach.  First Class co-ops have offered over 300 classes.  Some parents teach using a curriculum, but the vast majority of the classes are created by parents using many different sources.
  • First Class Co-ops do not require that members sign a statement of faith.  Only teachers and leaders must sign the Statement of Faith.  FCHM co-ops are evangelistic in nature, meaning they are open to everyone.

*It is important to note that FCHM expects students to dress and speak appropriately.  Each co-op is responsible for making sure that they foster an atmosphere of respect and learning.

  • First Class co-ops do not allow children to be dropped off for classes without the express permission of the co-op coordinator.  Parents are expected to stay on campus and either teach or assist in classses during co-op hours.
