About our new program for upper level homeschool students:

First Class Homeschool Ministries is a Christian organization whose primary goal is to provide assistance and support to homeschooling families through their local church.  In this case, our support is helping parents homeschool through high school.

Since 2000, First Class has been partnering with parents and pastors to provide homeschooling families with community and support for their homeschooling journey.  We do this in many ways, including offering classes, tutoring, training, testing, and many opportunities for academic and spiritual growth using our model of a Christ-centered, well organized homeschool cooperative.  These cooperatives function as parachurch ministries.

WHAT IS A PARACHURCH MINISTRY?
A para-church ministry is any non-church Christian organization that helps the church in some way to fulfill its mission.

Parachurch ministries include mission organizations, conference ministries, university ministries, Christian radio stations, and Christian book publishers. These para-church ministries help out in some way with the ministry of local churches.

As a parachurch ministry, FCHM is committed to helping local churches reach out to homeschooling families in the name of Jesus Christ.

FCHM is not a school or an umbrella organization for homeschoolers, but we see our role in God’s kingdom as assisting homeschool families in training their students in such a way that they might be equipped to serve the Lord throughout their adult lives. We serve parents and students by coming alongside parents and providing a safe, Christ-centered environment where they can expect to find many different kinds of support.

This is the goal of the FCHM High School program: to offer ongoing support to parents of high school students, helping them homeschool all the way through 12th grade.

In September 2010, we are launching a pilot program in Vancouver, WA that offers onsite tutoring and once-a-week instruction to high school age homeschooled students.  Our tutors may or may not be state certified, but all are trained to combat humanism by teaching Godly principles and are experts in their academic field.

It is the goal of all FCHM programs to be self-sustaining and reproducible. As the Vancouver program is tested, it will be implemented in other FCHM co-ops across the United States and Canada.

First Class is a support-based ministry to homeschooling families.  FCHM does not accept funds or cooperate with public schools, state funded organizations or charter schools.
