Spring 2009 Issue of the Old Schoolhouse Magazine
by Heidi St. John

First Class is passionate about supporting homeschoolers - and about connecting homeschooling families through their local church.

Jay and Heidi St. John, Founders and Executive Directors of FCHM have said that "Churches should be light houses for homeschoolers" and that sentiment is rapidly growing as pastors partner wth parents to create FCHM co-ops in their churches.

These communities are making a difference, not only in the families they serve but in the communities they are placed in.  Find out why in this article written for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.

"We help churches plant homeschool cooperatives," said Heidi St. John of First Class Homeschool Ministries. "We have a proven program that any church can put into their ministry. Parents come one day a week and offer classes to the children, therefore building a community of homeschoolers."

FCHM on the Air in Chicago, 12/28/07

FCHM is featured on Homeschooling for Life, the radio broadcast of Dave and Kim d'Escoto. The d'Escotos have written an excellent book entitled THE LITTLE BOOK OF BIG REASONS TO HOMESCHOOL.

Dave and Kim's program airs Saturday mornings on WYLL AM 1160 in the Chicago area, starting November 3, from 8:00am to 8:30am.

The program features guest interviews with noted homeschooling advocates, tips on how to get the most from homeschooling, information on curriculum and resources, and plenty of Biblical encouragement for keeping an eternal perspective on discipling our families.

In late September, Jay and Heidi St. John were featured on HSLDA's Homeschool Heartbeat, a nationally broadcast radio ministry to homeschoolers. This was a wonderful opportunity for the St. Johns to share the vision of FCHM with HSLDA's national audience and the response has been nothing short of incredible.
