9:00-10:30 - New Member Orientation (room D220)
& Hall Monitor Training
11:00-11:30 -Chapel/Announcements
11:35-11:50 -Block A
11:55-12:10 -Block B
12:15-12:30 -Block C
Note: 9:00 am: new members, please look for the staff member holding the welcome sign. This person will direct you to your nametags and point you in the right direction.
New Member Orientation: Please bring a snack for each of your kids. NO PEANUT PRODUCTS. Some of our members are highly allergic to even the smell! Those who need to attend: (list of new members-or those transferring from a different co-op.)
On this first day, each class will last only 15 minutes. We will use this time to:
· walk through the emergency evacuation plans
· possibly hand out materials letting the kids (and parents) know if the kids will need to bring anything for class
· and maybe play ice breaker type games
Basically, it's the teacher's chance to get the preliminaries out of the way before official class time begins and help new families become integrated as easily as possible. That way we won't lose any teaching time, stressed out because we didn't realize you'd need this or that, kids aren't prepared, or "Oh wait, I need a dry erase pen that actually *works*!" etc.
