First Class Christian Homeschool Co-op

San Joaquin

Welcome to the First Class San Joaquin Co-op!

The Manteca co-op is a sponsored ministry of First Baptist Church of Manteca. Classes are held at the church, located at 715 E. North Street, Manteca, CA 95336.

How to Participate

There are several ways to participate in the First Class San Joaquin co-op.

Registering Your Children for Classes

In order to register your children in First Class San Joaquin classes, you must:

  • Join the First Class Homeschool Ministries (FCHM) organization ($25 annual family membership paid to FCHM)
  • Register your children for First Class San Joaquin classes and pay the $35 family class fee to help cover administrative and material costs. If you teach a class in a semester, your family receives $10 off the family class fee for that semester!

While your child is in class, you can participate as a teacher, assistant, or other volunteer. See Volunteer Opportunities below for a list of available opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities

As a parent of a child enrolled in First Class San Joaquin , you must serve in some volunteer capacity while your child attends classes -- you cannot drop your child off at the co-op and leave.

The co-op is in need of volunteers for the following positions:

  • Nursery: The co-op needs nursery positions filled for 3 different time slots on Wednesdays 1 pm to 4 pm, for a 8 week period beginning on Sept. 21, 2011. Each person can sign up to help in one or two of the time slots. If you love taking care of babies and/or if you are planning on signing up your older children in co-op classes, this would be a great position for you while they are in class.
  • Assistant: Every class at the co-op must have a teacher and at least one assistant. Assistants help the teacher to keep the class running smoothly in various ways. While teachers come to each class prepared to lead that day's class, assistants generally need no "prep time," so this is an excellent way for co-op students' parents to volunteer.

Because FCHM and First Class San Joaquin are Christ-centered homeschooling ministries, teachers must agree with and sign the statement of faith printed on the second page of the Prospective Class Application.
