CLASS REGISTRATION IS SEPTEMBER 5th! (Co-op starts Sept. 19th) We'll be having a registration day for fall classes on September 5th. Right now, we're putting the final touches on the fall class list, but if you haven't turned in your class description yet, it's not too late! Follow the steps below to get going with FCHM South King! WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO NOW? STEP 1: CONTACT LANAE PEARSON to discuss any ideas you have about classes. She's already got a great list of classes going for the fall; call her to see what classes are still needed or to discuss any ideas you have for a class. Her number is 206-242-4924. STEP 2: COMPLETE A TEACHER/CLASS APPLICATION. Go to the "Friday School" toolbar at the top of this page. Drop down to "Class App." Print this form, complete it, and mail it to Lanae. Her contact info appears at the bottom, right side of this page. STEP 3: JOIN US ON A FIELD TRIP. Check the "Coming Soon" calendar to the left of this page. It is periodically updated with new outings. There are at least two more for the summer; remember to check back for the info if it's not there yet! STEP 4: SPREAD THE WORD! First Class is always open to enrollment. Unlike some co-ops that require registration months in advance, First Class is FLEXIBLE and UNDERSTANDING. We realize that some families are not ready to register for co-op until closer to the start of the session; that's fine with us. Start telling your friends about the different co-op you've found: the one that cares about YOU! GENERAL CO-OP INFO: Where Classes Are Held: Grace Church 10323 28th Ave SW Seattle, WA 98146 For directions to Grace Church, click here: http://www.gracechurch-seattle.org/. Don't let the Seattle address fool you: this is a south-end co-op located near Burien. When Classes Are Held: Fridays 9:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. | Joining First Class: Joining a First-Class Co-op is a two-step process. Step One: You must begin by joining the national First Class Homeschool Ministries. This is a yearly membership. To join, click here. Step Two: Join South King Co-op. You can do this in person on class registration day (Sept. 5th) or during the year whenever you join our co-op. You must join both the national co-op and the local co-op in order to register for classes. A note about this change: Last year, both the national registration and the local chapter registration were handled in one step and one payment (the payment was then split between the two groups). This year, because FCHM is growing so much, the memberships are being handled seperately, but the price of joining has not changed. It's just that now you make two (smaller) payments as opposed to one larger payment. FCHM is decicated to keeping costs LOW! Everyone at FCHM (both national and local) is dedicated to keeping registration and class fees as low as possible. The fees that are assessed are used for administrative costs, scholarships and building fees, to name a few things. Questions? Contact Lanae at 206.242.4924 Classes are filled on a first-come -first-served basis. Parents who teach register early and are guaranteed first priority as classes fill!
