What do we do?
Our major activity is Monday School--an 8 or 10-week session each fall and spring. However, we have many other avenues for support and fellowship.
Our mission statement:
We exist to encourage, support and build up the local community of homeschool families, reaching out in the name of Christ.
In your opinion, what does it take for a person to get to heaven? Find out what the Bible says!
We desire:
To be a resource center where members can find information, both practical and spiritual, to assist them in their commitment to homeschooling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is a "cooperative"?
A. A cooperative, or "co-op", is a collaborative organization that is jointly staffed by all of our members. At Wagener FC, we count on all of our members to contribute their time, energy and talents by helping implement our programs, events and activities. The co-op has a Board of Directors who oversee the ministry and offer help and support where needed.
Q. Does my membership cover the entire family?
Yes-for the entire year, August to August. Members who join after January will have their dues prorated to $35.00 through the rest of the co-op year.
Q: Are parents required to teach at Monday School?
No, but they are required to stay on campus and will be assigned a "job" somewhere during class hours. Of course, we strongly encourage parents to teach... It's what makes Monday School able to offer so much!
Q: Does First Class have a statement of Faith?
Yes, please read it by clicking on the "Statement of Faith" tab under First Class at the top of this page.
Q. What are the costs involved in Monday School?
Tuition: $3.00/class, supply fee may be added.
Q. When does Monday School operate?
Typically, 8-10 week sessions, September-November, and mid-February through early May.
Q. How do I get in touch with a co-op coordinator?
See the contact sheet, parent handbook or our website. You will find specific categories to help you know who to direct your question/comment to. We always want to hear new ideas and appreciate you input!
Q. What should I do if I can't afford to participate?
First Class has limited funds set aside for scholarships. Please get in touch with our treasurer to obtain a scholarship application.
Q. I am interested in teaching. How do I get a Teacher Application?
You can get a teacher application right off our site. Please see the "Documents" tab above, print it off and mail it in!
Q. Will my child(ren) get into the classes they signed up for?
We only guarantee that the children of teachers will get into the first class of their choice. Because class space is limited, we offer first choice to these students. Every student must list three class choices per block of class. If the child's first choice is not available, they will be assigned their second choice and so on.
Q. What types of events and activities are available through First Class Wagener?
A. Our activities and events are as varied as our members. It's all up to you! In the past, First Class families have enjoyed a wide range of classes and activities ranging from Crafts to Foreign Language classes. What are you excited about teaching?
Q. Must the leadership of Wagener First Class have a background check?
A. YES! In order to protect our children AND our workers. All parents/guardians are welcome even though they might have a history. But all leadership must have a clear background in order to lead our children. All classes must have at least two adults for accountability purposes.

Please bring your Box Tops & Campbells UPC to help raise $$ for our school. Thank you for your support!
